Hawkins was born in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York. However he moved to Staten Island as a youth. He was origin
ally a beatboxer for Clan associate Cappadonna, as well as being well known friends with future members Method Man, Inspectah Deck, and Raekwon. Sometime before the members united, U-God was mentored in rap by Cappadonna. He soon became friends with RZA and Ghostface, and he began rhyming under the alias Golden Arms, based on the Kung-Fu movie The Kid with the Golden Arm. Later on he changed his name to U-God
While serving as host to Rock The Bells annual hip-hop festival 2006, Mc Supernatural broke the record for delivering the longest freestyle rap. 9 hours 15 min!
Born Michael Gene Dionne, Eyenine is an underground hip-hop artist from New Hampshire. He has shared the stage with many influential artists including Mr. Lif, Razhel, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Lyrics Born, AWOL One, Jedi Mind Tricks, Kristoff Krane, Adeem, Bleubird, Witness, Sadistik, C Rayz Walz, iCON the Mic King, and Ceschi Ramos, to name a few.
After releasing a full-length album and a free EP through the New Hampshire-based indie label Flyrock Records, Afraid to Dream was released in late 2011 featuring guest appearances from Eyedea (R.EYE.P, Rhymesayers) and Mac Lethal (Rhymesayers). The album was met with critical acclaim and caught the attention of the legendary producer, artist, and visionary, the RZA. His new EP entitled Dissembler is an eclectic mix of emotional lyrics, insightful self-talk, and societal and political low blows. His quick delivery and slow, soothing vocal variation will keep all listeners on their toes. Eyenine is now being managed by the Wu Tang Music Group’s affiliated REAL HOOD MUSIC, LLC., team.
the independent market. CMG is currently building a fan base by performing in the Chicago-land area, and by increasing their presence on the Internet via Myspace, Facebook, Reverbnation, Bandcamp, and their website Copamg.com.
CMG crafts a unique sound that is as trail blazing as it is entertaining. Making Hip Hop music true to the essence of the golden era, with a modern day voice that crosses all walks of life. As gritty and competitive as the Wu Tang Clan with the soul and social commentary of the Stylistics… CMG is a refreshing glass of water for the thirsty music lover. Revitalizing the spirit with dope beats, dopes rhymes, great production, and energetic live performances.
CMG aims to bridge generational gaps while giving a voice to the voiceless and misunderstood through their music. Unity is the key to break down the barriers that currently hinder the progression of the Hip Hop culture, and more importantly the people in it. CMG works to achieve such unity with their mantra of ‘Camaraderie and Honesty’. Hoping to build a fellowship with not only artists in the Chicago music scene, but with artists everywhere. CMG shares their goals and music with the world, and hopes both will last for years to come.
