Performing their own originals like “Chocolate”, “I’ll Be Fine”, and “The Sea”, along with a mix of fresh innovative covers arranged to the unique Seventeen Sisters style!
Seventeen Sisters is very passionate about rock music. They are about rebellion, rebelling against status qous, poverty, hunger, social and environmental injustices, racial profiling, effects of war, etc. The Sisters use their music to rebel against these injustices yet at the same time give people hope and inspiration. Seventeen Sisters wants to show that people can change not only themselves in a positive direction, but the world in which we all live in. They believe in entertaining while impacting the world for the better!
Since their serendipitous inception, My My My has captivated audiences with their magnetic boy/girl vocal dichotomy, sonorous and buoyant melodies, and dynamic, resonating beats at the Sundance Film Festival, Milwaukee Summerfest, North By Northeast (NxNE) in Toronto, the Taste of Chicago, Old St. Pat’s World’s Largest Block Party, the Midpoint Music Festival in Cincinnati, and in Chicago clubs like METRO, Schubas, Bottom Lounge, Martyrs’, Subterranean, The Note, as well as clubs on both coasts. My My My has also been played on Keeping up with the Kardashians, Bad Girls Club, Last Call with Carson Daly, The Real World: San Diego, and The Real World: Las Vegas.
Fans of Miss Jackie and The Sass are especially drawn to their energetic and passionate live shows that overflow with powerful and soulful vocals, tight harmonies, perfect-fit drumming, low-down, dirty bass riffs and organic, flowing blues guitar solos.
The Sass was founded in 2005 by Miss Jackie Matejko and Kristen Regester. In 2008 they recorded their debut EP, “You’re Finally Gettin’ Some,” which includes the ultimate declaration of female sexual confidence, “Bad One,” and the hilarious and true tale of woe, “The Pussy Song.” With the additions of the fine and talented Dave Langley and John Keebler, The Sass has developed into a solid, dynamic, unique and genuinely enjoyable band.
Miss Jackie and The Sass are currently gigging around Chicagoland and working on new tunes for your ears and ass
