Rememberwhens
Rememberwhens
Rememberwhens in Bill and Teds Bogus Adventure when they traveled to the future to meet their future selves, and they were treated like Gods because it was music that apparently brought peace to the world and united everyone...so they brought their future selves to the present (which is the past for us now) to play in some talent show thing (with death on upright bass!) and their song was the greatest song ever and united the world??!?! YEAH....THATS PRETTY MUCH WHAT THE REMEMBERWHENS ARE.
The Locals (Record Release!!!)
The Locals (Record Release!!!)
"The Locals are an alt-pop, indie-rock trio from Chicago. Think The Breeders meets Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Whigs, with some Pixies sprinkled in.

Fronted by singer and songwriter Yvonne Doll, The Locals have been a part of the Chicago music scene for the last decade. They have played extensively in the Midwest, and just returned from their first UK tour (2011).

"SALT" the Locals' fifth studio effort is unapologetically guitar heavy alt-pop. Doll's distinct and powerful vocals cut confidently through the band, becoming the perfect compliment to the always solid, sometimes frenzied rhythm section of Nunes and Snedeker. The music has it's root in powerful 90's alt-pop like early No Doubt and Foo Fighters, but is heavily influenced by modern brit pop like The Joy Formidable.

"SALT" was produced, recorded and mixed by Steven Gillis (Filter).

What people are saying about The Locals:

"Unlike some current indie rock girls that scream to get our attention, lead singer, Yvonne Doll, grinds with the melody much like Gwen Stefani did in her early days with No Doubt. Doll’s powerful, but not overbearing, sound gives [The Locals] a pop feel without losing its rock edge." -Time Out Chicago

"The chorus to 'Away From Here' is epic" - MTV

"“The EP ‘SALT’ will have listeners craving more than four exceptionally crafted songs….” Rock Wired Magazine"

Yvonne Doll grew up in Cincinnati, OH but made her way to Chicago to attend the Art Institute of Chicago. Her photographs of people sleeping on the el train has garnered international recognition. Sleepyurbanite.com was featured on the Today Show, Newstalk Radio (Ireland), VoxPop Magazine (France) and more. She is also an accomplished painter.

Christy Nunes began playing professionally at the age of 14. She hails from San Diego, from where people still hail. She has played in a diverse assortment of bands over the years and brings an element of each to The Locals(R) - funk, rock, punk, acoustic and classical/jazz. Nunes is also a photographer and knife wielding maniac. She once shoved a kid during a job as the Chuck E. Cheese mascot.

Kirk Snedeker (originally from Connecticut) started playing drums at the age of 8. He was in an Elvis cover band at age 14 and, in addition to many local bands, put himself through college by playing music. Snedeker enjoys cooking, has a Fear of Public Vomiting (FPV) and has mostly outgrown a childhood fear of pinecones. His voice can be heard on a Space Shuttle flashlight toy circa 1992.
Last Year's Winners
Last Year's Winners
Last Year’s Winners is a rock band. Three guys that love to play. Carl Johnson is the writer, singer, the lead (and only) guitar player. He is as at home singing and playing acoustic in a coffee shop as he is on stage playing as loud possible. Luke Leeman is a bass player’s bass player, perfecting not only a bass line, but a counter melody or a hook that the song grabs onto. Zach Dresser has the task of making this power trio groove, keeping it feeling good whether it’s a spacey acoustic driven number or a loud, bombastic rock song. Last Year’s Winners started as a collection of Carl’s songs that begged to be recorded, and a couple friends that were as much fans as collaborators. As children of the grunge and alternative rock filled 90’s, Last Year’s Winners takes that straight forward yet personal sound in a modern and original direction.
Bonzie
Bonzie
Nina Ferraro AKA Bonzie is an indie-folk artist based in Chicago. She writes all of her original music independently, and plays several instruments, including guitar, ukulele, and piano.

At age 11 Nina began exposing audiences the songs she'd been writing in seclusion for several years. She began singing and playing acoustically at a local coffee shop in her hometown and the experiences fueled her passion for music. In the years following, she would go on to perform at venues including Taste of Chicago, SPACE in Evanston, Martyrs', Beat Kitchen, Elbo Room, Abbey Pub, Uncommon Ground, and many other venues in Chicago and across the Midwest.

At 14, Nina recorded and released her first original single, "Let It Go," produced by Wade Norton and Tommy Byrnes (music director for Billy Joel). The legendary Kenny Aronoff (Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Smashing Pumpkins) worked with Nina in the studio to record drums/percussion for the single.

One year later, Nina returned to Los Angeles, this time to record a five-song EP - The Promise, which as Nina describes, "an adventure of perspective" - produced by Will Golden and Al Sgro (producers of Erik Hutchinson, Meiko, and Michelle Branch). Musicians who played on the record include bassist Jonny Flower (Ryan Adams, Colin Hay), multi-instrumentalist Brad Gordon (Ingrid Michaelson, The Weepies), and drummer Michael Jerome of Better Than Ezra.

After receiving national airplay on college and independent radio - Bonzie has done several on-air interviews discussing her music, her life, and the origins of her passion. Now 17, Ferraro is continuing creating and performing, touring with her band across the Midwest, and receiving critical acclaim for her live shows. She will release her debut LP in the Spring of 2013.
